Ceramics is an art for everyone.

The desire to share Portuguese pottery art with others is the motivation behind miñota ceramics.

About Us

We are Celina and Sara - twin sisters and the founders of miñota ceramics.

The word miñota is derived from the Portuguese word “minhota” and means the women of the northernmost region of Portugal - Minho. And minhotas, i.e. women from Minho, that's us. Our roots lie in this beautiful region and probably have the greatest influence on our aesthetic sense and therefore also on the selection of our ceramics.

The idea

The whole world has a cult for this opulent art of shapes and colors.”

These first words of José Queirós in his book “Cerâmica Portuguesa e Outros Estudos" (Portuguese Ceramics and Other Studies) sum up well what ceramics has represented in Portugal, our homeland, since its beginnings:

Ceramics is an art for everyone.

The desire to share Portuguese pottery art with others is the motivation behind miñota ceramics.

The inspiration

The inspiration for the selection of our products is the characteristic landscape of northern Portugal, with its rugged beauty and the flair of the Atlantic coast.

The earthy tones of the rugged landscape, the dark green of the pine trees and the blue of the Atlantic are reflected in the natural design of our ceramic tableware. The selection of our products is carefully considered. In addition to genuine, natural design, we pay particular attention to the durability and combinability of individual ceramics.
